Murcia, Valencia and Alicante transport: Trains not running, roads closed
Adif has suspended train services between Murcia, Valencia and Alicante due to the impact of the storm
Transport by train and road is still complicated in the Valencia area, with state railways manager Adif having suspended long- and medium-distance services on the Valencia-Alicante-Murcia line.
Much of the Mediterranean Corridor remains inoperative, keeping the routes between Valencia and Barcelona at a standstill, and the Valencian Cercanías trains have not yet resumed their usual operations either.
In addition, the high-speed AVE route between Valencia and Madrid remains closed on Wednesday due to the damage caused to the railway infrastructure, according to Adif, and it could stay that way for the duration of this weekend.
Adif has said that the resumption of other rail services will depend on weather conditions and the state of the infrastructure after the damage can be properly assessed.
Three days of nationwide mourning have been declared by the government in honour of the victims of the disaster, and many Halloween events and other activities that had been organised by official government bodies have been suspended.
During the night, in coordination with Renfe, the Valencia Joaquín Sorolla, Cuenca Fernando Zóbel, Madrid Chamartín and Madrid Atocha stations have remained open to receive passengers affected by the cancellations. In addition, companies such as Iryo and Ouigo have cancelled all their services between Madrid and Valencia, offering alternatives to passengers at no extra cost.
Spain’s Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, confirmed that the high-speed routes between Madrid and Valencia, as well as the Valencia-Seville service, remain suspended until further notice. Medium-distance services connecting Valencia with Albacete, Alcázar de San Juan, Aragón and Tortosa have also been cancelled.

The authorities have asked motorists to avoid any road travel in both the province of Valencia and in Castellón.
According to the latest information, there are traffic closures on many sections of the following roads: A-7 (pictured, above), A-3, A-35, V-11, V-30, V-31, N-3, N-322 and N-330.
