New arrangements for bulky waste collection in Condado de Alhama
The collection and timing arrangements for large, bulky items of refuse, furniture, appliances etc has been changed
Due to the ruling on the collection of rubbish imposed on the Condado de Alhama community after the legal appeals presented by the AVPCA neighbourhood association, the way in which larger items of refuse are collected by STV Gestion, the company contracted to dispose of refuse, has changed.
The new service has been reduced in comparison to the agreement in place with STV previously, but these new rules have to be complied with, as the refuge collection service passed into the control of Alhama de Murcia Town Council in July 2022 as a result of the AVPCA appeals.
The Council's contractors STV have been very proactive in helping the Condado Entidad Urbanística (Urban Entity) formulate a solution that allows the urbanisation to have more collection days, as opposed to once a week which is the standard for the rest of the Alhama de Murcia municipality.
The new procedure to organise the collection of belongings is as follows:
- The maximum number of objects that can be left for collection per home is 4 per week.
- The days of collection will be Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays between 6:00am and 12:30pm.
- Owners must send an email to enseres@condadoalhama.com before 5:00pm the day before collection, giving details of the parking space where the items will be left.
- The owners can also call (Monday to Friday from 9am to 2pm) or send a WhatsApp message to 0034 603 566 419 the day before the collection to arrange collection.
- Objects must be deposited in the owners' car park space after 7:00pm the night before collection. For the gardens in the Naranjos area, a specific area will be set up for each garden.
- This procedure came into force on July 9, 2023.
The Entidad Urbanística and its President apologise for having announced the alteration of the collection protocol at such short notice and it will cause some problems, but thanks to the cooperation of STV and the work of some presidents and the administration a solution has been reached that is hoped will allow the collection of bulky items to be managed in the Condado de Alhama urbanisation.
