June 14 Intermezzo in Los Alcázares, free concert by flautist Alexandra Pichurina
Debussy, Ravel, Falla and Granados recall the paintings of Sorolla with Duo Saxperience at the Town Hall of Los Alcázares
The 2026 “Intermezzo” series of free classical chamber music concerts, the seventh time it has been organized, continues in the Salón de Plenos of the Town Hall on Sunday 14th June with the prodigiously talented flautist Alexandra Pichurina, one of the most important young musicians in Spain.
Since 2023 the Intermezzo season has featured the winners of the Intercentros Melómano (Grado Profesional) competition, and Alexandra Pichurina is the latest to join their ranks. She graduated from the ‘Anselmo González del Valle’ academy in Oviedo (Asturias) and the programme she is presenting in Los Alcázares recreates the mining songs and others of the Mediterranean coastal areas of the Iberian Peninsula through works by Óscar de Manuel, the flute and piano sonata of François Poulenc, “Dance de la Chèvre” by Arthur Honegger, “Carnaval de Venecia” by Paul Génin and “Fantasía brillante”, an adaptation of themes from Carmen, by François Borne.
Accompanying here at the piano is Elia Esipovich.
The event begins at 20.30 and these concerts are generally extremely well attended, so make sure you arrive in plenty of time to guarantee yourself a seat!
