August 15 Torrevieja Summer Carnival Parade
Over 200 participants will be showing off their multi-coloured costumes and choreography
A moment from last year's Summer Parade
Torrevieja is holding this year’s Summer Carnival Parade on Friday August 15, starting at 9pm by the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Centre.
It will proceed along Calle Ramón Gallud as far as the junction with Calle Clemente Gosalvez.
The stars of the parade, who will wave to everybody attending, will be the Salt Court, made up of the Salt Queen and her ladies in waiting.
The Carnival Kings and Queens will also be there on floats, accompanied by each of their fiesta troupes.
At the head of the parade will be a float with representatives of local neighbourhood fiestas, the Ladies and Beauties of Fire representing the “Molinos del Calvario” Hogueras bonfire fiestas, and the Queens of La Mata and the Sagrado Corazón fiestas.
Moreover, there will be all the colours and choreography of the 16 different Carnival groups, which together make up over 200 people.
This year, the end of the fiesta will take place at the Paseo Vista Alegre, which will become the focal point of the celebration with a large exhibition area where the troupes and groups can show off their costumes and choreography to the public.
The final touch will be the presentation of next year’s Carnival Kings and Queens, along with the poster for that edition, to mark the beginning of a new cycle of fiestas.
