The marina of Los Urrutias
An island marina on the inland shore of the Mar Menor in Los Urrutias
The marina of Los Urrutias, officially known as the Club de Regatas Mar Menor, contains 258 mooring berths for boats with a maximum length of 12 metres and draft of 2 metres. In total the hexagonally shaped island facilities, which are reached from land via a 100-metre bridge, cover an area of 23,000 square metres.
The UTM coordinates are X: 691995 Y: 4172560, or 37º 40.54N, 00º 49.24W (see map).
The telephone and fax numbers for contact are both 968 134438 (mobile 647 566060).
As well as standard boat maintenance and repair facilities the Puerto Deportivo also has a 10-ton lifting crane, a sailing school, a restaurant and bar and ample parking facilities at the Club de Regatas: members of the public are welcome to use the restaurant and sample the typical local rice, fish and meat dishes!
The marina is one of nine inside the Mar Menor, its nearest neighbours being those of Los Alcázares to the north and Los Nietos to the south-west, and like the others it also offers water sports facilities including sailing classes. The calm water and strong prevailing breeze make this area near perfect for those learning these water sports, and many schools and instruction centres are open in the Mar Menor all year round.
