The Capilla de la Milagrosa in Totana is a neo-Gothic structure which was built in the late 19th century on the spot formerly occupied by the 14th-century church dedicated to the Purísima Concepción, the first known place of Catholic worship in the town.
The garden in which the Milagrosa stands once contained the Hospital de la Concepción, one of various religious establishments which performed necessary social and medical functions in Totana during the years of disease and famine in the 16th and 17th centuries. Nowadays, there is a school alongside.
The chapel is located on Calle del General Aznar, just a couple of hundred metres from the Town Hall and the parish church of Santiago in the central Plaza de la Constitución in Totana, which offers regular services.
