As we step into the first weekend of September, Spain’s weather is showing its usual early autumn mix. Atlantic weather systems will bring a mix of showers and storms focusing mainly on northern and northeastern Spain over the weekend, while the south and east enjoy warmer, drier conditions. Winds will vary, with some gusty coastal and mountain breezes.Thursday September 4
Northern Spain will see showers and possible thunderstorms, especially in northern Galicia and the western Pyrenees, with afternoon storms likely in Catalonia and the Valencian Community. Elsewhere, expect clear skies or high clouds, with morning fog in northwest and coastal areas. Temperatures will fall in eastern Cantabria but climb in the southeast. Winds will breeze from varying directions, with strong gusts in Cantabria and Ampurdán.Friday September 5
Showers may appear at dawn along the Catalan and Valencian coasts, with some storms possible in Tarragona and Castellón. The rest of Spain stays mostly dry with some morning fog in northern and eastern regions. Temperatures dip in the east and Strait area but rise on the Atlantic slope. A front brings widespread rain and cloud to northwest Spain, especially Galicia and the western Meseta, clearing later in the day. Scattered storms may develop inland in the east and southeast. The Balearics see cloud cover, while the Canaries remain mostly clear. Temperatures fall in parts of the interior but rise across the Mediterranean and archipelagos.
