Patio Museo Santa Clara La Real

Part of the Museo Santa Clara

Patio Museo Santa Clara La RealThis is a very interesting museum, as it’s not one which is generally easy for individuals to visit, as it is still partly a working religious complex. Part of this complex is devoted to the museum.

The patio of the Museo Santa Clara is used as an atmospheric setting for concerts and cultural events from time to time.

Formerly this was a Moorish palace, the Palacio Hudí (1228-1243) during the period in which Murcia City was not only built by, but occupied by Moorish invaders, a time of transition from the Almohade dynasty to the Nazarí. Following this, the palace was taken by the Christian invaders for their own use. Miraculously, it has survived partly intact, and inside the core of this building is part of the original palace and gardens.

The museum can normally be visited only by prior appointment.

Pre-registrations for visits can be made by calling 968 27 23 98
