November 22 Christmas light switch-on and lots of surprises in Murcia
The giant Christmas tree will once again take pride of place in Murcia's Plaza Circular

Murcia is getting ready to celebrate the start of Christmas 2025 with two festive events that promise to "fill the entire city with light and excitement." The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, announced the dates on social media, highlighting the moments that bring thousands of residents and visitors together each year.
The first event will be held at 7pm on Saturday November 22 in Plaza del Cardenal Belluga. For the first time, this square will host the simultaneous lighting of all Christmas lights across the city and its districts. Visitors can expect an evening of music and a magical atmosphere in the historic centre.
The second event takes place on Friday November 28, coinciding with Black Friday. Plaza Circular will unveil the Great Christmas Tree with a completely new show designed to surprise both children and adults. The staging will be more visual and dynamic, transforming the square into a space filled with tradition and festive cheer.
Murcia City Council is inviting everyone to enjoy both celebrations as they officially mark the start of the holiday season.
The city promises "a Christmas that arrives with renewed hopes, lots of light and the magic that fills the streets of the city every year."
