For many centuries the Mediterranean Sea was the most important network of communication among the civilizations around its shores, and such diverse fields as architecture, art and, in this case, music share common threads which were forged during the time of sea-faring interchanges.
This concert by Pulsar Velado concentrates on the musical identity resulting from this historical heritage, with a programme featuring the following:
Sonnate pour la Mandoline by M. Corrette
Sonata IV by R. Valentini
Sonata per Camera di Mandolino e Basso by G. B. Gervasio
Sonata V by G. Leone
Sonata I by D. Colla
Sonata K. 89 by D. Scarlatti
Pulsar Velado
Pulsar Velado is a duo featuring Héctor M. Marín on the mandolin and Marina López on harpsichord, dedicated to the research and performance of 18th-century music which was popular in Spain at the time. The duo has already performed in the cities of Murcia and Cartagena and are currently recording their first CD, “Mediterranean Mandolin: The XVIII Century”.
