Landmark Ryanair and Booking.com agreement makes life easier for travellers
Spain says the change will bring "more seamless and transparent booking experiences" for customers
Ryanair and Booking.com have reached a historic collaboration that ends years of tension between the two companies. The agreement means that Ryanair flights will now be fully integrated into Booking.com and other travel platforms within the Booking Holdings group, including Kayak, Priceline and Agoda.
This change is designed to make the booking experience much smoother for customers. Travellers can now book Ryanair flights directly through these platforms without any extra verification steps or having to manage their reservations separately on Ryanair’s site.
The integration also ensures that prices are fully transparent, helping passengers avoid unexpected fees or hidden charges.
Another significant benefit is that the Irish airline will have direct access to customer information for those who book through these platforms. This means that passengers will receive timely updates about any flight changes, delays or other important information directly from the airline.
Up until now, communication was usually a bit more complicated when bookings were made via online travel agencies.
Going forward, the popular budget airline also plans to expand its network of trusted online travel agencies, including Expedia and Viajar El Corte Inglés, with a promise to customers that it will keep pricing consistent across all the platforms.
This is a major shift for Ryanair, who has always maintained a rather adversarial relationship with online travel agencies.
According to Spain’s Minister for the Interior Fernando Grande Marlaska, the change will bring "more seamless and transparent booking experiences" for customers.
By ending the long-standing disputes and integrating fully with these major platforms, Ryanair is making it easier for passengers to plan and manage their trips in one place.
Overall, the deal should result in a simpler, more reliable and more transparent experience for anyone booking Ryanair flights online.
