Ikea planning store in Cartagena is closing its doors
Compact design space in Espacio Mediterráneo to shut in March
Ikea is closing its small planning store in the Espacio Mediterráneo shopping centre in Cartagena next month. Opened in 2022, this 75-square-metre outlet on the first floor was the first of its kind in the Region of Murcia.Unlike the large traditional Ikea stores where you pick up furniture right away, the "Ikea Cartagena Planning Space" helped customers design their kitchens, wardrobes and other rooms with expert advice. It started with seven staff members, while Ikea's bigger branch in Murcia city stays open.
No exact closing date has been announced for the Ikea store, but it is scheduled for some time in March.
The closure after just four years follows other shop exits from the centre, like Massimo Dutti last year and Oysho also this March.
