This architecturally spectacular modern church in the Plaza de Oriente, right in the heart of Torrevieja’s town centre, was built after the old church was demolished in 2007 to make way for a new structure.
Every year in late June or early July it is the centre of the fiestas dedicated to the Sagrado Corazón.
Throughout the rest of the year Mass times are as follows:
Winter: Weekdays 10.00 and 19.30, Saturdays 19.30, Sundays 10.00, 11.30 and 19.30
Summer: Weekdays 19.30, Saturdays 19.30 and 20.30, Sundays 8.30, 10.00, 11.30, 19.30 and 20.30.
Unfortunately the church is not open to visitors during the rest of the day, but a visit to the Plaza de Oriente should be include on any stroll through the town just to admire the clean lines of this extremely attractively building.
