GNK Golf course closures 2025: La Torre, El Valle and Hacienda Riquelme shut for maintenance on these dates
There are temporary golf course closures planned for 2025 in Murcia for important course improvement work
Golf enthusiasts in Murcia have been left wondering about the fate of their favourite courses after an announcement hinted at major closures to come in 2025.The company GNK Golf, which manages several courses around the Region of Murcia, has revealed which courses will be unavailable and for how long, confirming that three of its renowned courses will be temporarily closed during key dates this year.
While the news might be disappointing for some, the reason behind these closures is crucial to maintaining the high standards that players have come to expect.
The temporary closures will allow maintenance crews to hollow core the greens, a specialised process essential for the long-term health and quality of the playing surface.
Though the procedure requires 7 to 14 days of recovery, the results promise to enhance the greens significantly.
Specifically, the hollow coring is due to take place at La Torre Golf Resort, El Valle Golf Resort and at Hacienda Riquelme.
The scheduled closures are as follows:
- La Torre Golf Resort: Closed from May 26 to June 1, 2025
- El Valle Golf Resort: Closed twice, from June 2 to 8 and again from August 18 to 20, 2025
- Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort: Closed from June 10 to 15, 2025
While the closures may disrupt some golfing plans, GNK Golf assures players that the work is necessary to maintain the top-class conditions these courses are known for. Golfers are encouraged to plan their visits accordingly and enjoy the improvements later in the year.
